CALLING ALL FBC LADIES FOR “GIRLS REALLY IN THE SPIRIT”!
It is the New Year and we want to share the opportunities available through GRITS (Girls Really In The Spirit)! GRITS is the new FBC ladies’ ministry that “connects women to God and to each other”. Perhaps God is encouraging you to join the existing GRITS small groups or begin one of your own!
Apron Brigade led by Ellen Hester meets the second Sunday of each month from 4:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at The Cottages to share recipes and demonstrate cooking skills in order to “make one and take one” for someone else. The first session this year was Sunday, January 10, when Amelia Adams shared her favorite soup recipe.
GRITS Fellowship led by Lee Myers meets most every Sunday evening beginning January 31 in members’ homes to fellowship over a meal, share recipes, share praises/hurts/hang-ups, pray, and support each other to lead Christ centered lives. This close-knit group will study together “The Power of a Praying Woman” by Stormie Omartian.
GRITS Stitchers led by Sue Kamienski meets the first Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at The Cottages to make baby blankets, prayer shawls, afghans, and other items for anyone in need. Experienced knitters, crocheters, stitchers and those who want to learn are all welcomed!
Healing Hearts led by Jane Pettus meets the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 10:00 a.m. in Room 414 to support women who have experienced loss or other life changing event. The group will begin a new book on healing.
Intercessory Prayer Group led by Peggy Howard and Dot Walker meets each Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel to pray for those on the church prayer list and others in need.
For more information on each of the GRITS small groups, please contact the church office or visit the church website www.fbcmonroe.com.
